Christ the King Catholic High School (CTK) in Huntersville, NC, is a vibrant community where faith and education come together to inspire students to believe sincerely, think critically, act responsibly, and serve others. To meet these growing needs, the school launched a one-year capital campaign called “Together in Sport and Spirit.” The campaign focused on raising funds to build stadium-style bleachers, add much-needed parking, construct new bathrooms, and create an emergency access road for outdoor sports. These improvements will transform the campus, creating a welcoming and functional space for students, families, and the wider community.

The campaign had a unique tiered giving structure, allowing donors to choose the level of enhancements they wanted to support. Each tier built upon the previous one, starting with essential updates like field improvements and growing to include added features such as a press box or artificial turf. From the initial announcement to the final fundraising push, every material was carefully crafted to highlight the school’s goals and inspire action.

Go for Gold with a Campaign Logo

The campaign theme logo is one of the most important elements of a capital campaign—it’s the visual centerpiece that ties all the materials together and represents the heart of the initiative. For CTK’s capital campaign, we used sports badges as inspiration to create a logo that reflected both school pride and the excitement of athletic growth. Using the school’s colors and mascot, we layered bold lines within a circular shape to give it a dynamic, timeless feel. A combination of serif and sans serif fonts helped to add balance and cement the sports badge vibe. This versatile design worked well on a variety of items such as pins and stickers, giving supporters a chance to share their enthusiasm and spread the word about the campaign.

A Booklet and Envelope to Score the Winning Goal

A successful campaign requires clear, engaging materials to communicate its vision, and the campaign case statement booklet is often at the center of it all. For CTKCHS, it served as the ultimate guide, showcasing the three tiers of giving and the enhancements tied to each level. Shades of blue and grey were used to create a distinct color palette, matching the school colors. Shapes with rounded edges were overlapped and stacked across each page, helping to organize and highlight import details. To make the campaign goals tangible, we integrated visuals of the renovation renderings and blueprints of the new bleachers, giving readers a clear picture of the impact their contributions would have.

A campaign’s packet envelope is more than just packaging—it’s the first touchpoint that sparks excitement and sets the tone for what’s inside. For CTKCHS, we designed a custom envelope that not only carried the school’s branding but also conveyed the energy and purpose of the campaign. Bright, dynamic imagery featuring students and athletes in action adorned the back, emphasizing teamwork and the community spirit at the heart of the initiative. Overlapping shapes and color blocking were used around the edges of both sides to create a cohesive look while still leaving functional space on the front. These vibrant envelopes, containing the campaign booklets, were distributed to parents via students and mailed to community members, ensuring the materials made a memorable first impression.

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work with a Pledge Card and Envelope

A pledge card is where intentions turn into action—it’s the moment supporters can see their generosity start to make a difference. Functionality was of upmost importance for CTKCHS. We created a larger-format pledge card that kept everything donors needed in one place. The clear, organized layout made it easy to understand their giving options. Color blocking was used for each section of the card, helping to visually separate each section. White boxes signaled where a contributor needed to add information or make a decision. The card helped participants feel confident and excited about their impact, laying the foundation for the campaign’s success.

Once supporters complete their pledge card, the return envelope ensures their giving plan reaches its destination seamlessly. For CTKCHS, we designed a custom envelope that felt as intentional as the rest of the campaign materials. The back of the envelope features the school’s color palette, accented with a white stripe running down one side, like a ribbon on a gift. The logo is placed on the top flap, acting as a seal for your giving plan. This thoughtful design doesn’t just stand out—it creates a sense of excitement and care, reinforcing the importance of every contribution.
